A Walk to the Beach

a-walk-to-the-beach.jpg

It was a cold, but bright, day at the New Jersey shore in January for this photo. The bright sunlight on the sand explains the shutter speed of 1/500 second and the f/11 at a wide angle focal length of 38mm. Everything in the photo shows up in sharp detail - from the fence post immediately in front of the camera to the waves in the Atlantic Ocean.

If it had been summertime, I might have caught the image of a mother leading two young children down the path to the shore. But in January, it was just me and the biting wind blowing in from the ocean. I didn’t hang around to take many shots!
